You, Jesus, and Money: Can You Have It All and Still Save Your Soul?

What makes you get and spend money the way that you do? Certainly, you’re not just responding to ads from your favorite website, television show, catalogue, or magazine…or are you? Surely, parents or teachers or friends or family members or some significant other aren’t pressuring you to get the right job so you can have the life you need and deserve…or are they? Of course, as long as everything’s legal, what you do to make money or the way you spend it doesn’t really have much to do with your involvement in the Church—or does it? And just because you’re an Asian or Asian American person living in the U.S.A. has no relation to the way you think about and use money…or is this a factor? Let’s share and engage some possibly new and more reasonable ways for folks to think about, talk about, and faithfully secure money for their lives as citizens of the world and as believers in the Church. Maybe you’ll discover that money just might help lead you to love and happiness after all.
